2024年2月招聘更新

2024年2月13日下午13:40

In late January, a dozen FSCJ personnel joined other community volunteers for a morning of BEACON (Bringing Economic And Career Opportunities Nearer) program training in preparation for deployment into Duval County’s public high schools this month. Once in the high schools, volunteers met with students to continue the postsecondary enrollment conversation, focusing on completion of the all-important Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) filing.

This year’s BEACON conversations may come with a new wrinkle or two as they take place in the midst of the soft launch of the new simplified FAFSA. Opened on December 31, the streamlined FAFSA is intended to decrease the length of the application while increasing its simplicity. Volunteers are there to assist students with understanding the application process, especially as complications have been reported with the simplified form. BEACON will continue through the second week of February.
